Register an account at OpenAI (ChatGPT) and get API key

In order to start using ChatGPT for WooCommerce you need to register or log into your account and get API key.

1. Go to the official OpenAI website at https://chat.openai.com/

2. Look for a "Sign Up" or "Get Started" button on the website. Click on it to create a new account. You may need to provide your email address and phone number to create an account. Select a plan. You can proceed with a free plan, if available.

3. Navigate to API Section. Once you have created an account and logged in, navigate to the API section on the OpenAI website: https://platform.openai.com/api-keys
   API Section may provide details about the available plans, including free and paid options.

4. Generate a new API key by selecting [Create new secret key button]
   This key is essential for authenticating your requests to the ChatGPT API. Keep it secure and do not share it publicly.

5. Please save this secret key somewhere safe and accessible. For security reasons, you won't be able to view it again through your OpenAI account. If you lose this secret key, you'll need to generate a new one.

6. Specify the API key in Store Manager application. See instructions below.

Install ChatGPT-product-content-generator marketplace Plugin

Plugin installation is opitonal. You can use other types of connection and save credentials within Store Manager application.

In order to start using ChatGPT-product-content-generator plugin follow few steps:

MANUAL INSTTALLATION

1. Download plugin here - https://wordpress.com/plugins/product-content-generator-with-chatgpt

2. Sign in your WordPress Admin panel and Navigate to → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → Choose the File that was downloaded on the first step and press Install Now.
   Proceed to step 3 below

INSTALLATION FROM MARKETPLCE

1. Sign in your WordPress Admin panel and Navigate to → Plugins → Add New

2. Find the plugin ChatGPT-product-content-generator from the list and press Install - https://wordpress.com/plugins/product-content-generator-with-chatgpt
   
   

3. Press Activate plugin.

4. If WooCommerce and Store Manager Connector Plugin were installed and activated - the ChatGPT Product Content Generator will be successfully activated. 

5. Go to the plugins list and find the ChatGPT Product Content Generator plugin and hit Settings

6. Specify OpenAI credentials and model and press Save button.

Configure ChatGPT to WooCommerce plugin in Store Manager application

1. Install Store Manager for WooCommerce, if needed - https://woocommerce-manager.com/free-download/

2. Configure database connection, if needed. Use the QuickStart Guide to proceed.

Important! In case you have installed ChatGPT-product-content-generator marketplace Plugin, skip the following steps.

3. Open Preferences section (F12). You can find Preferences - ⚙  GEAR icon in the left bottom corner.

4. In Preferences window open AI tab and specify the following settings

API Key - Specify the API key (generated as per instructions above) next to OpenAI - ChatGPT.

Text generation Model - Select among available Language models.
Only one language model can be active at a time. 

Select OpenAI as provider and appropriate ChatGPT model in the dropdown.

Images Generation - Use this option to generate images. Same OpenAI API key is used to generate images with GPT Images model.

All is set. Test credentials and give ChatGPT a try.

How to generate text with ChatGPT for WooCommerce

In order to start using ChatGPT for WooCommerce you need to specify your API key and configure the plugin as described above.

In order to run ChatGPT follow a few steps:

1. Use the ChatGPT button next to any text field like description, short description, metadata, or any other field.

2. In the opened window you will see a sample of the prompt that you have configured in Preferences. You can use this prompt or update it according to your needs.

3. Hit Run button to send your request to ChatGPT

4. See results in the results window.
   In case you want to regenerate the text, hit Run button again. Please note, that each run will be charged additionally based on your ChatGPT plan.
   In case you are satisfied with the results, use any of the actions available below
   - Apply changes and replace existing descriptions or text.
   - Append the newly generated text to the one you already have.
   - Cancel and exit ChatGPT. 

Note, that you will not be able to undo the changes applied with ChatGPT. Please review the changes carefully.

How to generate images with ChatGPT for WooCommerce

In order to start using images generation feature with ChatGPT you need to order a separate license key and register the plugin: https://woocommerce-manager.com/plugins/gpt-images-for-woocommerce/ 

In order to run ChatGPT images generation follow a few steps:

1. Register the addon in Preferences (F12) - find the gear button at the left bottom corner. Open Addons/Plugins tab. Click on Unregistered and specify your ChatGPT Images plugin license key. Once the registration is successfull, you will see Registered.

2. Once the registration is done, make sure that you have specified API Key as described above and selected OpenAI as images provider.
