The Lower Coupons Grid
This grid contains the "Edit" form with the corresponding tabs to fill.
The "General" tab shows data related to the coupon name, description, type, amount and date of the expiration.
Note: the "Code" (i.e. the appropriate promo-code specified by users to activate the discount) field is mandatory.
The "Description" box contains information on the particular coupon. Specify the details to describe the current offer.
There are the following options in the "Discount Type" field:
1. "Product Discount" - the numeric value of the discount related to products in the cart.
2. "Product % Discount" - works the same as the previous type but in the percentage equivalent.
3. "Cart Discount" - the level of the discount will be calculated based on the total amount of the cart.
4. "Cart % Discount" - the value specified in percentage that can be applied to get a discount for the total amount of the cart. Consider the example, represented on the illustration below:
"Discount Amount" - indicate the value of the discount. Depending on the type, selected in the previous field, it can be numeric fixed or percentage value.
"Allow Free Shipping" - add a free shipping to the current coupon offer.
The "Coupon Expiry Date" field allows to specify the date the discount will be relevant to:
In the two upper fields you should specify the price range ("Minimum Spend" and "Maximum Spend") created coupon will be valid. For example, if the limits are set from $70 to $100, in that case, the price of the positions less than $70 and more than $100 will be taken without a discount.
"Individual Use Only" - not used in combination with other coupons. In this manner, when applying the coupon, other discounts will be unavailable.
"Exclude Sale Items" activates the condition under which products on sale will be ignored by this coupon.
"Email Restrictions" - specify corresponding email addresses of customers for the discount.
"Usage Limit per Coupon" - specify the number of times the particular coupon can be applied by customers before it becomes invalid.
"Limit Usage to X Items" - indicate the number of products to which the coupon can be applied before it becomes inactive. This field will be valid if the chosen type of coupon is "Fixed Product Discount" and if there is one or more products to which a coupon discount may apply.
"Usage Limit per User" - set an individual limit for each user. That means, when a certain number of times spent by a customer to apply a coupon gets exhausted, a coupon becomes invalid for that customer.
"Affected Products" - products the current coupon will be applied to. It can also be the list of products that need to be in the customer cart in case the "Fixed Cart Discount" is selected.
"Excluded Products" - the list of products a coupon will not be applied to. In addition, if the "Fixed Cart Discount" type is chosen the products listed in that field cannot be in the cart during purchasing.
Note: if you leave the tab empty (the affected and excluded products list not specified) the coupon can be applied (used) to the entire range of the store.
Press [Apply] to make the changes activated and saved.
Categories Restrictions tab
"Affected Categories" and "Excluded Categories" - choose categories on the left to make a coupon available for these positions and, accordingly, for the products, assigned to these categories, current coupon will be inaccessible.
The [Apply] button saves the changes, performed in the particular tab.
Once this coupon has been activated, you can distribute it by e-mail to your customers or place at the store’s site as a hot offer.
Apply Coupon at the Front-End
After receiving a promotional, code customers can use it during the purchase at the front-end of the store to get the discounted price.
Specify the code in the appropriate area of the cart (1) and press the [Apply] button to activate it (2).
The sum of the order will be calculated based on the product price, taxes and selected discount.
Apply Coupon to an Order in the Point of Sale Section of Store Manager
In the POS section of Store Manager, starting from the updated versions, a coupon can be added directly during order creation.
In the lower part of the POS form there is an area for coupon adding. Press the button to open a list with all available coupons:
Choose one you need and it will be applied to the current order. You will see the totals of an order with the discount assigned to the chosen coupon. Take into account the price fields with tax and without tax - it varies depending on the discount you have applied.
The table with the discount values, as shown on the illustration below, is represented by the columns with the code name, discount and tax. The discount is an actual discount on the product based on its cost (price without tax).
The column "Tax" forms on a basis of the discount amount, which is applied to the order automatically.
"Product Total (Tax Exl)" is the difference between an actual price of the product (TAX exl) and the amount of the discount in the numeric equivalent.
The price with the discount, in our case (represented on the illustration above), will be equal to: 24-6=$18
If the product is taxable you can see the variations in the columns related to the Tax values as well.
The "Total of an order with Tax" is obtained from the differences between the price value (Tax Incl) and the "Order Discount" column.
The price with the taxes will be equal to: 29.95-7.49=$22.46
If the data is configured properly, you can save an order and close the POS form simultaneously.
In the Orders list the newly-created order is shown with the coupon details, as well.
